Aman Hayer

Aman Hayer; A man that needs no introduction, without a doubt he is one of the most talented, respected and professional producers in the bhangra music scene. Every song he produces becomes a worldwide hit; he exudes expertise to construct a melody and caters to every artist’s whim. In his career he has worked with some amazing singers, which include Sardool Sikander, Malkit Singh, Sarbjit Cheema, KS Makhan, Manak-E, Kuldip Manak and Jazzy B. Overlapping into the film industry, he has worked with Richa Sharma, Sunidhi Chauhan and Jaspinder Narula. AsianFx caught up with the busy producer and asked him about his new release, Groundshaker 2.

1. How did you get into the music industry, and how long have you been in the industry for?
I’ve been in the music industry for 13 years, through my father Avtar Singh Hayer and I have been under the tutelage of Sukshinder Shinda for a decade now.

2. Can you play any instruments?
Yes, I play the Dhol, Dholki, Tabla, Harmonium, Keyboards, Tumbi in all of my albums.

3. Who is your inspiration?

4. What is your latest project, Groundshaker 2, is expected to be the best album of 2008, how do you feel about that?
I’m just looking forward to the release I have worked very hard on it and hope it goes well. The fans have been asking me since the last album release to come up with something even bigger and better and this has forced me to really make something even more special this time round. I hope that I’ve delivered exactly what you guys want.

5. Tell us a bit about Groundshaker 2.
The album has 14 tracks and features Jazzy B, Angrej Ali, Nirmal Sidhu, Lehmbher Hussainpuri, Saleem, Manjit Pappu, Yudhvir Manak, Apache Indian, Hard Kaur, Romy Gill, Dev Dhillon, Jas Dhami, Jayshree and Kaka Mohanwalia.
It took 3 years to make this album as I juggled with touring and working in the studio and working on other artist albums.

6. What is your favourite song from the album?
That would be Sher Panjabi sang by the legendary Nirmal Sidhu.

7. Which newcomer do you think has the most potential to hit it big?
Personally, I think that there is a lot of bright talent out there but if I had to chose, I think Kaka Mohanwalia is the one watch out for.

8. Describe yourself in three words.
Down to Earth.
